Weekends get heavier: jerk chicken, brisket sandwiches. An evening cocktail bar was planned for later in the spring.

CIVIC on Eighth has such a wonderful atmosphere and charm. The space is beautifully designed with cozy seating, warm wood details, greenery, and a stylish yet relaxed vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. The ambience alone makes it a perfect spot to meet friends, get some work done, or just enjoy a quiet moment. We loved our visit and really enjoyed the drinks and treats. The loaf cake was fresh, moist, and delicious, and everything was presented beautifully. The staff created a welcoming environment, and the whole place has a unique personality that stands out from a typical coffee shop. Definitely a hidden gem with great energy, great design, and a place I’d happily come back to! 🌿☕️

This is about to be my favorite spot in DC! This is one of the cutest coffee shops I have been to. It is very warm & welcoming with a nice vibe. The atmosphere is great but so is the food & beverages. The food option is not extensive but what they do offer is really good. The Patties get a straight 10 out of 10 along with the breakfast pastries. But that beef patty was the best patty I’ve ever had; and this is from someone who is from NYC. Civic also offered a Lamb & a Vegan patty. You will love the patties along with the prices. This place is not the overpriced over hype chain coffee spot in n DC. Spot is a must visit by yourself and/or with a friend or two.

So happy to find this place! Perfect spot to grab a coffee and a small bite either solo or to meet up with a friend. The vibe is welcoming and there is lots of seating, including a super comfy couch! Outdoor space accesible. They turn into a full service bar in the evening. Great spot!
