Danny Meyer's counter, with a half-smoke egg and cheese

Danny Meyer's Daily Provisions came down from New York to Connecticut Avenue in August 2025. Sandwiches, salads, baked goods from morning on, wine and cocktails once the sun drops.

The DC-only item is a half-smoke egg and cheese, which is either pandering or exactly right. Get one before the crullers sell out.

There was a lovely man there who I got to know quite well. He looks strikingly similar to the character "bear," from Obsession. Striking resemblance. I'll attach a photo. He was so sweet. Very polite. Lovely conversation, he mentioned his autism and his struggle to "mask" at the establishment, which as someone who stuggles with the same thing I understand. Its great to see places employ people with special needs!

We had the Lumberjack & Avocado toast. EXCELLENT!! I believe I’m historically accurate when I say that our founding Fathers developed the culinary concepts that we know today as, ‘Sweet & Savory’, right here at Daily Provisions, when they crafted the first Lumberjack Breakfast Sandwich. Thanks again Jefferson! History tastes great at Daily Provisions!

Not sure what's driving negative reviews of this place. The crullers are incredible, including the multiple different seasonal versions we've tried. The breakfast sandwiches also very good. The lumberjack (BEC on a maple cruller) is a McGriddle on steroids. The BEC on an everything croissant is also great and the breakfast sandwiches on normal bread are pretty good. Great location, good service.

We stopped in here mainly to use the restroom. We decided to grab a quick treat while we were there. I got the seasonal cruller which I believe the man at the counter said was chai. It was honestly probably the best thing we had our entire day. We did go on a Thursday around 1 pm. The staff were very nice. My friends also got a coffee and one of their cookies and really liked those as well. It was very nice and spacious inside as well.

New favorite study spot in Dupont! I love that the music is chill and not distracting (a mistake that a lot of cafes make), so it’s great to get some work done. They give reusable glasses if you’re getting stuff “for here,” which is always commendable. The lighting is ideal and the inside is very spacious, and there is also outdoor seating. Additionally, the staff were very nice.
