Thirty seats in a former dry cleaner, nothing over $12
Franks Wild Years took a former dry cleaner off 14th Street in June 2026 and squeezed thirty seats into it. It calls itself a dive and is too new and too clean to really qualify.
What it gets right is the pricing. Nothing on the menu passes $12, the lighting is low and the drinks are strong.

Hard to beat a dive bar that has endless vibes and a $10 beer and shot combo. Can't wait to come back upon my return to DC!

Frank's Wild Years (awesome Tom Waits shout-out) has a killer vibe. The kind of place that just feels right the second you walk in. Bartenders rock, always friendly and quick, and they know what they're doing behind the bar. Plus it draws a crowd that is fun to get to know. Solid beer and liquor selection too. Nothing too fancy, and what you would expect from a place you want to stop in and have a few beers with buddies at. This is the type of spot that's going to be a legendary dive bar years from now. Get in early so you can say you were there. Highly recommend.

Happen to walk in, and have a couple beers with some great people. Love the atmosphere, welcoming to strangers.

Truly what’s not to love. The carousel lights are warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and fun. The chances of running into a dog are high which is always such a treat. The martini on tap was delicious! Franks rank as one of my favorite bars is heading ‘straight to the top’.
