Cafe Fiorello

★ 4.6 · 238 reviews Washington, D.C. Opened October 2025

The Lincoln Center Italian-American, first branch ever

Cafe Fiorello has been feeding the Lincoln Center crowd since 1974 and never opened a second location until October 2025, when it took a Pennsylvania Avenue address downtown.

They are playing the hits: thin-crust pizza, rigatoni alla vodka with bacon, chicken parm, short rib meatballs, burrata ravioli. Start at the antipasti bar and eat less of the pasta.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience at Café Fiorello! We ordered the prosciutto pizza with burrata, the lobster pasta with Parmesan, and the fresh-baked Italian loaf with garlic spread. Everything was incredibly delicious — rich in flavor, beautifully served, and perfectly prepared. The service was fast, attentive, and very pleasant. The whole experience felt elegant, warm, and truly memorable. We would definitely love to come back again!

The staff was fabulous, from the front door to our exit. Everyone was incredibly attentive and the dining experience was wonderful. We ate the Caprese Salad before I could take a photo but the server recommended the fresh out of the oven focaccia and it was the best! The pizza has a delicious thin crust and a balanced profile of sauce, creamy cheese and savory meats. The fresh baked cookie was the cherry on top of the sundae. It was a generous amount of food and an enjoyable experience.

I had an enjoyable meal here last week! The decor and overall vibe were nice but not stuffy. Service was attentive and quick. I appreciated the variety of vegetarian options, and I thought the vegetables I ordered were quite good, especially the cauliflower. I also love when a restaurant has a mocktail menu with multiple real options that feel carefully considered. I tried their virgin mojito and thought it was pretty good!

Came here as a tourist from Texas, walked right in around lunch time. There was no wait and this is in the museum district. Carlos was our server and was so sweet and attentive. He had great recommendations. We definitely felt under dressed, but nobody said anything luckily! The staff and service from everyone was kind and great!

I recently visited Cafe Fiorello DC and chose to sit outside, which turned out to be the highlight of the experience—the atmosphere was really enjoyable and made for a nice setting. As for the food, it was decent but not particularly memorable. We ordered the meatballs, lasagna, and roasted lemon chicken. The meatball portion was quite small (just two), and while they tasted fine, they weren’t anything special—I’ve definitely had better elsewhere. The lasagna was a bit different from the traditional style and seemed to have less meat than expected. The roasted lemon chicken was the most disappointing; the temperature didn’t seem quite right, and it felt slightly undercooked. Service was fair but could use improvement. It took a long time just to get water, we never received bread, and we had to ask the manager for the check. That said, the restaurant was busy, which may have contributed to the slower service. Overall, the ambiance stood out, but the food and service didn’t quite live up to expectations.
