Chicago tavern pizza in a Walter Reed auto shop
Juneberry started as an Airstream trailer parked on the old Walter Reed campus. In December 2025 it moved into the auto shop next to it and kept the indoor-outdoor sprawl.
The pizza is Chicago tavern style, thin and crispy and cut into squares. Sodas are made in house, and the Great Lawn is right there for the overflow.

The vibe here is “communal backyard,” which is what we were looking for for a midweek night out. The drink and food service were fast. And the staff was surprisingly attentive given the menu explicitly says the tip is included in the menu price. The seating options included pub tables, round tables, and circles of Adirondack chairs. They have specials during the week. The spritz menu is creative. The comfort food (we ordered a bacon double cheeseburger and sausage pizza) hit the spot. I’d gladly go back, maybe for the beer + 50% off burger night.

Juneberry Garage is the diamond in the rough the area has been waiting for. There is a giant patio with plenty of seating, umbrellas, shade, and restrooms. There is also a bar, and an dining room indoors, with additional bathrooms. Every table (both inside and outside) will have a QR code, you can order directly from your phone and they have staff that will bring your food and drinks to the table. You can also place an order or start a tab at the bar, but they'll need your table number if you're going to get food. There's a self service water station inside with carafes and cups, and a sideboard that you can help yourself to silverware, ketchup, mustard, napkins, etc. The entire place is first come, first serve, so if you arrive during busy times you might have to wait for folks to leave. The vibes are immaculate, from the "crazy aunts lakehouse cabin" decor, to the giant taxidermied Marlin from old Bar Pilar. The bartenders are excellent, and as long as you or your group are 21+, you can normally nab an open seat at the bar. The cocktail menu is very reasonably priced for DC, and rotates about 5-6 of their drinks seasonally. The draft menu has some standards, like radeberger pilsner, the köstritzer schwarzbier, or the Denizens Hazy IPA (Animal,) or Delirium Tremens. They do a good job rotating a few of their lines with frequency. They usually have Maine Lunch on tap, but last I was there they had swapped it for Maine Dinner (A DIPA that I've rarely seen on a draft line) Bells Oberon, Great Lakes Honey Wheat, etc. There's a nice selection of wines by the glass, and some by the bottle only. They keep a fairly stocked bar, if you're looking for a spirit or cocktail off menu they can usually make it happen. They also have a coffee machine with great expresso, and I think they have the best Expresso Martini in DC. There's a lineup of frozen drinks that they add booze too, primarily their frozen lemonade, and recently a frozen Yoo-Hoo chocolate milk. The kitchen is excellent, and although they are serving "american fare" everything is elevated without the price tag. Their thin crust chicago tavern style pizza is A+, and tastes just as good the following day. Their smash burgers are top tier (maybe best in the city!) They run specials during the week that are not available on the weekends, so it's worth popping in for a visit. Something to note, the kitchen is very small and streamlined. They don't have the bandwidth for modifications, so while they will let you remove anything from a menu item, they won't do additions. For example, they do not offer 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas, or adding LTO to a burger. There is takeout available, but they turn off online ordering on the weekends. You can still show up and place a takeaway order in person, but you might have a long wait depending on when you go (like Friday night when everybody else wants to get a takeout pizza.) The only day they are closed is Monday. They open at 4pm during the week, and on weekends they open at 11am with a brunch menu until 3pm. I believe the full menu is available, outside of one or two items. Overall, immaculate vibes, excellent prices, great staff, a wonderful place for lunch with the family, or drinks with friends.

This is a great neighborhood spot. I ordered a burger (with an impossible patty to make it vegetarian) and my friend a chicken sandwich, both of which were great. Their patio is beautiful and the indoor dining space is also cute.

So happy Juneberry is in the neighborhood! This is a great spot to grab drinks on a sunny day with excellent, reasonably priced burgers and pizzas. I *love* that their prices are inclusive of service with no expectation to tip and wish more DC restaurants followed this model.

Solid place in the neighborhood! Especially great when the weather is nice and you can sit outside. Lots of kids there too; good family spot. We sat inside at the bar and got a couple bites. A friend got the chicken sandwich and really liked it. I had the sausage pizza and the Thai cucumber salad. Wish the cucumber salad was marinated a little more, all the juices were on the bottom. The pizza was fantastic! Perfect. We saw a few people order the burger and definitely think you should try it; looked so good! Beer selection is also solid, we had the sour which was very good and refreshing.
