Spanish tapas one page, Peruvian grill the next

Selva sits inside The Mayflower Club on Connecticut Avenue and refuses to pick a country. Spanish tapas at the front of the menu, Peruvian grilled meats further in, five ceviches somewhere in the middle.

The wagyu churrasco gets ordered most. The rotisserie chicken with ají amarillo and rocoto aioli is the better plate.

We had an amazing experience at Selva Restaurant and the Mayflower Club! Our group was fairly large, and Dennis, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. He helped coordinate our dinner and made booking a table afterward at the Mayflower Club incredibly easy and stress-free. Dennis was professional, welcoming, and made our entire group feel comfortable from start to finish. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Dennis, for making our night so enjoyable. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Selva Restaurant and the Mayflower Club to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a memorable experience!

This is a cute gem a short walk from the DC Improv and not too far from DuPont Circle. Glad to have found this because we were looking for a place where we could have a late dinner after a show. We had a little bit of trouble getting in because apparently they prefer reservations, and as the evening grew later, a line formed outside the door. We did get a walk-in spot and got to sit at a lovely booth right by the bar. The bartender, the hostess, and our waitress, were totally aces! I cannot compliment them enough. We were there for a birthday and instead of a regular cake they gave us a really shot of Agua Caliente. That was a nice and different touch. It tastes a little bit like sambuca with the anise undertones. The food was solid, but the true standout was the Tuna Nikkei (cerviche). 😋 I will come back for that alone! The plantain chips were excellent, and the other thing that was a surprise favorite was the Flores De Calabaza (stuffed zucchini). The vibe was very energetic, makes you Feel like you're in a lounge or at a party. It was really nice. I look forward to going back another time for a full meal.

What a SUPER fun night!! After dinner the ladies night cocktail were most welcome while seamlessly slipping into a night of dancing!! Can't wait to do it again! Amazing music the whole time

Beautiful location. I felt the Miami/Tulum vibes as soon as we walked in. The food was yummy and the drinks were so good. Especially the speciality drinks. The music is great and the staff was friendly and prompt. Definitely recommend you check out when you're in the Washington DC area. I was there for a company Christmas event.

Phenomenal, phenomenal restaurant! My husband and I watched a comedy show and got out early so decided to grab some dinner. We were not disappointed. Atmosphere and decor was beautiful, but what I came for was the food after hearing rave reviews from multiple people. They were not lying. I always will try the chicharron if it’s an available item on the menu, and wOw. . I have to say it’s one of the best I’ve had, and I’ve had it at a lot of places ranged from all over the US, as well as in Peru and Bolivia. Heaven!! Never had chicharron with so much flavor, and beautiful presentation 😍😍😍 Winner. We also had the churrasco for a main dish, beef empanadas, tuna ceviche, croquetas de pollo, and the cheesecake for dessert. 10 stars!! Already trying to plan my next visit, and am definitely taking my mom sometime since she loves the same foods I do. Ok, long post, but this place is a definite win.
