A 33-foot bar and a Chesapeake theme on Connecticut Avenue

Wheelhouse opened on Connecticut Avenue in July 2026, taking the Chesapeake Bay as its theme down to the fittings. The bar runs 33 feet and there is seating inside and out.

There are enough screens for a full Sunday of games. It gives upper Connecticut Avenue somewhere to wear boat shoes without owning a boat.

This place is awesome! Great food and drinks, a cool, fun, high energy crowd, and plenty of seating inside and out. Parking in the back and on the street.

I have been here several times and the food has been great and the staff friendly. Service can be a bit on the slower side, but it is also very busy, so it is to be expected. Overall, I am very pleased that there is a new addition to the neighborhood. My only suggestion is to add a few more child/teen friendly food options.

Enjoyed lunch and a World Cup game (Canada vs Morocco) here on July 4th. We were a large group and we were quickly seated in area with the larger tables, which was perfect. Service was excellent, drinks and food came quickly and our Server was attentive of anything we needed. Such a great and much needed neighborhood spot, will definitely return often!
