Rimtang opened in Georgetown in October 2024 with an unusual line on the staff page: the head chef is the owner's mother, and she has been cooking professionally for over forty years.

She brought recipes from her own restaurant in Thailand. The menu pulls from both the north and the centre of the country and stays firmly homestyle, which in Georgetown counts as a position.

We had the panang curry, papaya salad and the best ever mango sticky rice! The staff was so so sweet and attentive, and the thai iced tea tasted def home made. Super cute place and the music choices were great, singing along for half of our lunch. Shopped at brandy and had a great lunch. Def recommend if ur in the area :)

I was in the area doing some shopping and wanted to take a break for lunch. I searched for Thai food nearby, and this restaurant popped up, so I decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did because the food was delicious. I ordered the Ka Praw with Chicken and it was really good. I also got a Thai tea, which was delicious and paired perfectly with my meal. The service was great as well. It was an extremely hot day, and they were very attentive about keeping my water glass filled, which I really appreciated. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back. I love Thai food, and this spot did not disappoint.

Found this cute place in Georgetown, visited a few times now. It had the most delicious food! We got tofu pad thai and red thai curry. Surprisingly affordable food! The restaurant is beautiful decorated. The service was great. The washroom was super clean. Highly recommended for authentic Thai food!

Great Thai food in a cozy area of Georgetown. Walked in for dinner without a reservation but we may have gotten lucky. Easily walkable to if you’re staying in Georgetown. It’s also pretty close to the Metro Bus stop.

Delicious! My daughter and I came down to Georgetown craving a Thai meal, we came across this cute little place and immediately fell in love, my daughter has several intolerances and really wanted wanted the pad Thai, without a second thought, our waiter told us he would be happy to do take out those ingredients! The food was amazing. We could not be happier, I recommend the pad Thai and any of the “mama’s signatures.” Ask for Santiago!
