A bakery and deli parked inside Carrasco's old fire station
Pompier kept the name of the building it took over: pompier is French for firefighter, and the old Carrasco Valley fire station now houses a bakery and deli close to 300 square meters between the dining room and the garden where the trucks used to park.
The deli counter runs its own trade separate from table service, and the bread program alone is worth showing up for before noon. From breakfast through dinner, it's the sister project to Café Misterio, done bigger.

Amazing! The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The place is also very nice. Every time I go, the food at the counter is different, with a wide variety of original and updated options. You can tell they put a lot of care into both the quality and the menu. Highly recommended!

One of those places that does everything right. ✨ A divine atmosphere, delicious food, and a counter that changes daily (my favorite part). Family-friendly environment, gluten-free options, and I always want to come back. 🤍 Oh, and welcome to the restrooms inside Pompier!

Pompier is one of those rare places that perfectly balances a relaxed atmosphere with an upscale dining experience. The interior is stunning, featuring warm wood accents, rich leather seating, elegant wicker-style lighting, and lush natural plants that create a welcoming yet sophisticated ambiance. The open kitchen adds an interactive touch, allowing guests to watch the culinary team at work, while the secondary kitchen keeps everything running seamlessly behind the scenes. The attention to detail is evident throughout the restaurant, from the beautifully presented specialty juices to the irresistible desserts displayed in elegant glass cases. Speaking of desserts, Pompier has what is quite possibly the best vegan chocolate mousse in Uruguay. It's so good that it has become a must-visit stop every time I'm in the country. Rich, decadent, and perfectly balanced, it's the kind of dessert you'll find yourself thinking about long after you've left. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed, creating an environment that's both stylish and comfortable. Whether you're stopping in for a casual meal, drinks, or dessert, Pompier offers an experience that is as visually impressive as it is enjoyable. A true gem in Uruguay that combines great atmosphere, quality offerings, and unforgettable desserts. Highly recommended! 🌿✨🍫🍹🍰
