Turkish-Latin American fusion tapas from a Rolling Pin Top Chef, in a Leopoldstadt address that ran as Leopold for 30 years

Armandos opened on Große Pfarrgasse in July 2026, taking over the address that ran for three decades as the restaurant Leopold under different owners entirely, with a completely new kitchen and concept. Chef Enes Irik, previously at Steinhart and named a Rolling Pin Top Chef in 2025, built the menu around Turkish technique applied to Spanish and Latin American ingredients.

The tapas format keeps plates shareable: croquetas made with pastırma, sigara böreği, and octopus with ají amarillo sit on the same table. It's a concept built for grazing rather than a fixed starter-main-dessert structure.

Unfortunately, there aren't more stars to give!! A very nice restaurant with a beer garden and friendly service. The food is delicious. We went there two evenings in a row and ate a variety of dishes. Every one was excellent! And to top it all off, the waiter even brought us a small cocktail. We'll definitely be back!!

I was at this restaurant last week during the Spain game, and the atmosphere was really pleasant. I'm going back again today to watch the next game with a group of friends. Even though it was very busy, the food arrived really quickly. It was also delicious – especially my fideuà and the churros for dessert! The staff was also very attentive and friendly. I'll definitely be back!

We had a truly wonderful evening! The waiter was very friendly, attentive, and gave us excellent advice. The food was outstanding – full of flavor, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. You can immediately tell that high-quality ingredients and a lot of passion go into the cooking. We especially appreciated that the chef personally came to our table to ask if everything was alright.
