A 118-year-old Wirtshaus reopened as a vegetable-forward Beisl by a former Steirereck cook
Beisl Rosi opened on October 30, 2025, inside a Wirtshaus that has served food on Sechshauser Straße since 1906, most recently as Herzog's Wirtshaus. The new operators are Till Wörner, who trained in the kitchens of Steirereck and Meierei, and Emanuella Ndue, a hospitality newcomer; the name honors Wörner's grandmother.
The kitchen turns the traditional Beisl format almost entirely vegetable-forward: celery and blue-cheese churros, Castelfranco radicchio rolled in Meyer lemon marinade, though a meat-filled Maultaschen stays on the menu for anyone unconvinced. Natural wine runs alongside, and the address keeps its beer garden, along with kid- and dog-friendly seating.

What a lovely brunch! Interesting flavors and food combos with attention to detail and a love for high quality, seasonal produce. We loved it. Highly recommend!

It's a mostly vegetarian place which is great and the food was average. The source locally and have some fermented foods which is very nice but I thought the food could use just flavor. Overall it was a good experience but I'm not sure if I would go back. Our waiter was very nice.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem after a jaunt around Schonbrunn gardens Amazing food with such creative & original take on vegetarian food! Started w white asparagus w sauce on sliced thick bread Loved the leeks on bed of polenta & the oysters in the wood with beets on a bed of fresh lettuce! Loved the eggs & potatoes in creamy sauce ( sooo good) And dessert was amazing!

What a nice surprise! If you like well elaborated mostly vegetarian dishes with a twist in a cozy atmosphere, this is the place! The selection of wines is also very interesting and the service is excellent!
