Octopus döner on the Ringstrasse, the second Vienna branch of a growing fast-seafood chain

Pescobar opened its second Vienna location on Universitätsring in July 2026, run locally by Ulas Celikkol and Ekrem Tütüncü, who also operate the Dönermeister chain. The concept itself comes from Romanian restaurateur Paul Nicolau, whose Taverna Racilor group runs the format in London and Karlsruhe as well.

The menu centers on octopus döner, alongside wraps, seafood hotdogs, and shellfish and crayfish platters. It's open daily from 11am to midnight, positioned to catch both lunch traffic along the Ringstrasse and the later crowd looking for something other than a standard döner.

Super tasty octopus. Price more than reasonable for everything and really fresh food. Drinkswere also really interesting . For sure a repeat!

We were on a Friday evening, was crowded but you could find a table outside. The waiter very polite, spoke without problem 3 languages. We waited 15 min for our meal. The famous octopus is very tasty, well done and comes with potatoes and garlic sauce. The drinks were cold, fresh and at reasonable prices. A great experience and we will come back for sure.

I got myself an octopus salad for lunch and it was great. Nice dressing and soft, chewy octopus. It is very hot there so I ate in the office. Apart from that it was good.
