Jacket potatoes, done properly, on Gough Street
There's basically nowhere else in Hong Kong doing this: the British jacket potato, baked whole, split open, and loaded with butter, cheese, beans or pulled meats. It's cheap, filling stuff you'd grab off a UK high street stall, not what you expect from a Central menu.
Gough Street has quietly become one of Central's more experimental food strips, with The Spoon Pasta Bar, DIECI and OOOO Waffle all a few doors down. None of them run a standard Cantonese menu. Butter Babe's jacket potato bet is the narrowest of the bunch, built for people who already know the dish.

What an incredible location. The service was as warm as the potatoes were flavourful. The portions are so worth the price (105HKD including a delicious lemonade). Will definitely be returning

Hella good! Got the tuna coleslaw and bolognese. The added butter flavors are really good, got the garlic butter and rosemary butter, excellent addition of flavor. Traditional British way of making jacket potatoes. Would also recommend the fresh lemonade!

Butter Babe is a baked potato specialist that recently opened on Gough Street in Central. They have a small place with a handful of indoor tables. You can do take-away orders as well. Opening times are 11.30am to 9pm, closed on Tuesdays. Tried their baked potato with sour cream, butter, bacon bits and chives recently and was very happy with what was served. potato was well baked, ingredient toppings in good proportion. It was perfect. Served with a bit of salad, this was a nice, simple meal served quickly and reasonably priced. Butter Babe is a nice, simple addition to the food and dining scene around Gough Street. Hope they survive and do well, looking forward to stopping by again for another round as well.

Best baked potatoes are served here! Owners were nice and accommodating. Highly recommend trying the house made lemonade with your potato too. We’ll be back 🥔😊
