Naples-born pizza lands on Lee Tung Avenue
Fried pizza next to the classic baked list, that's the move here. Vincenzo Capuano built his name on it, picking up World Pizza Championship placings before taking the brand from Naples to London, Dubai and now Hong Kong.
The dough gets a long fermentation, the oven runs on wood, and the shop fills a gap on Lee Tung Avenue, a mid-range shopping strip with no real pizza destination until this one. It also lands Capuano in a straight fight with Pocofino, a few streets away on Ship Street.

Pizzeria Vincenzo Capuano has one standout strength: the dough. It is easily five-star quality—among the lightest I have ever tried, with excellent flavor and consistently perfect cooking. It is clear that a lot of care and skill go into the base, and it truly elevates the overall experience. However, the toppings are where things fall short. The sausage does not feel authentically Italian, the nduja comes across more like a sauce than the rich, spicy, chunky spread one would expect, and the prosciutto is underwhelming. On the positive side, the tomatoes and cheeses are very good and show strong ingredient quality. Service has improved noticeably. During my first visit shortly after opening, it was quite poor, but on a recent visit it was much better and more organized. One issue that remains is the temperature upstairs, which is uncomfortably cold. Overall, Vincenzo has the potential to be a top-tier pizzeria. If they focus on simpler pizzas with high-quality, well-executed toppings to match their exceptional dough, it could easily become my number one spot. At the moment, it feels like it lacks a bit of finesse despite an outstanding foundation.

Everything was great from start to finish. We waited about 30 minutes, and the staff came out to tell us the wait time. The staff were all friendly; we sat at the bar tables by the oven and got to speak to the chefs about how they make the pizzas. Even though it was busy, we received great service. We had the competition pizza, and the dough is something special! Chewy but still airy. The cheesecake was unique: made with biscoff which may be on the sweeter side for some people. I’d say it was worth the wait!

Ate here last night. The pizza came hot, which was good, but honestly it wasn’t amazing. I ordered the Parma ham pizza – there was so little ham I could barely find any on top. Also, the crust was way too moist and soft for my taste. The tiramisu was $88 but very so-so. I honestly prefer the M&S one. Might give it another try for a different pizza, but overall a bit disappointed. The staff is friendly and nice!! Very good service❤️
