Toyosu fish and sake on D'Aguilar Street
Sushi in the middle of Lan Kwai Fong's bar strip sounds odd until you taste it. Fish flies in from Tokyo's Toyosu market several times a week, and the attached bar pours sake and shochu as part of the main service, not an afterthought. The counter seats a small group with a chef working right in front of them.
D'Aguilar Street is known for clubs, not serious sushi. Sushi Raku is betting the evening crowd wants a real meal before, or instead of, a night of drinking.

In one day in Hong Kong only so I can’t compare with other local sushi places but as for the EU guy - this one looks perfect! Atmospheric, extremely delicious. Feel in Japan!

Very simple little shop with unique seating arrangement making eating their menu fun. Sushi is very fresh and the Don bowls are awsome. Could do with a little more rice in the bowls. Tempura was a bit oily but still good and chowa mushi did not look good but to my surprise it was delicious mix with crab meat. Very convenient location, prices a tad on the high side but for a once in a while treat it’s a good place. The lady at the front t door could have been a bit friendlier though

We had a delicious meal and a good service at this sushi restaurant in Central. You can see the dishes being cooked right in front of you. We came at a peak dinner time but the service was reasonably fast so we were happy with our meal. Would definitely return and recommend it highly. They also served us complimentary green tea which was a nice touch.

Visited in October 2024. Hong Kong. This restaurant, located in the heart of Hong Kong, offers a unique and authentic Japanese dining experience. Spread across two floors, the restaurant has a limited number of seats, but instead of traditional tables, you'll find a sleek bar-style setup, allowing you to choose between a window seat with a stunning view or a front-row seat to witness the culinary artistry at the open kitchen. Food: We visited twice and sampled a wide selection of their offerings, primarily focusing on their delectable nigiri selection. Our favorites were the fatty tuna, scallop, sweet shrimp, fatty yellowtail, and Hokkaido sea urchin nigiri. Each piece of fish was incredibly fresh, bursting with rich, clean flavors, and we couldn't resist ordering them multiple times. We also enjoyed the foie gras, although our personal preference would have been for it to be a bit more cooked on the inside, rather than runny. We also sampled their grilled mud crab in soy sauce, which was tender and beautifully balanced with a rich, briny, and slightly sweet flavor. The quality of the ingredients was truly exceptional. Beyond the standard menu, they offer an omakase set and other special set menus. However, for us, the best experience was ordering our favorite nigiri and savoring the exquisite flavors. Service: While this isn't a traditional omakase restaurant with a chef's table, the attentive servers deliver excellent service. You still enjoy a close-up view of the chefs at work if you opt for a seat at the bar. The service was swift and efficient, and ordering was effortless, simply by ticking off the dishes you desire. Conclusion: This restaurant is a true gem, offering incredible value for the quality and variety of fresh sashimi and nigiri. Every dish we tried was exceptional – delicious, fresh, and authentically Japanese. Highly recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends, as it tends to get busy. We’ve been back several times, and this restaurant has quickly become a favorite spot for a quick and delicious meal.
