A Cantonese-marinated protein finished sous-vide. A French sauce base built to sit next to rice instead of bread. Amalgamate's name says exactly what it's doing, and the menu changes seasonally so no dish gets to become a permanent fixture.
Lan Fong Road connects Causeway Bay's shopping strip to the quieter blocks behind it, and it's become a run of small, chef-driven spots that don't need the main-road foot traffic. Amalgamate fits right in. Book ahead, this isn't a walk-in kind of place.

This restaurant is an excellent choice for a lunch date. I was particularly excited to try their lunch tasting menu. The food was good, would rate the lunch menu a solid 7.5/10. The service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly attentive and always had a warm and welcoming smile. The atmosphere was classy, with great music and spotless cleanliness throughout the restaurant. I would definitely come back for a dinner date in the future.

It’s a nice touch that they kept some of the original design of the Chinese restaurant here previously. It is especially fitting for a fusion Restaurant. The food is creative and delicious. They recommended me a bottle of wine which is fruity and pairs well with the southeast Asian themed dishes. Service is quick and professional.
