Cheap eats at Godsbanen built on seasonal Danish produce
GODS opened in February 2025 inside Godsbanen, the old freight yard that gives Sydhavnen its industrial edge. Coffee costs 15 kroner, beer 25, wine 45, and a lunch tray runs 100, numbers you'd expect from a canteen, not from food this thought out.
The kitchen sticks to seasonal Danish ingredients instead of treating low prices as an excuse to cut corners. Weekends bring a brunch buffet built around Danish staples, pulling in the same mix of artists, students and workshop tenants who fill the rest of Godsbanen.

Informal atmosphere and creative dishes made with local ingredients. A cozy place where you feel welcome from the first moment.

We loved the place, spacious, perfect for a casual weekend brunch with the whole family. Food was tasty. We deducted stars because the orange juice had gone bad🙈we will still come back though.

Ok restaurant, but the building and surroundings (Godsbanen) are probably cozier during the day.

Unfortunately a bit of a flat experience, where you get significantly more for your money elsewhere in the city for a brunch buffet. A slightly uninspired selection of cold cuts and cheeses that unfortunately lacked flavor. Basically, I like the premises on the freight railway, it's cozy and in a way a bit canteen/school-like. But the food could easily be improved - that needs to be worked on. A little heads up for the service; you don't come down to the customer with an overflowing coffee cup, that's simply a no go.

Cozy place, especially when it gets dark. Where you can get good food at a fair price. There were 6 of us eating on a Thursday evening for a birthday. We had booked a table for 5:30 PM. There weren't many people when we arrived, but it was almost full when we left. The food was really good and the portion was adequate. Follow me for more tips about Aarhus
