Michael and Lasse Koch opened Opulent on Guldsmedgade in April 2025, pulling together more than 25 years of combined kitchen experience in Denmark and abroad. They capped the room at 30 seats on purpose, so diners can actually track the chefs and the service instead of getting swallowed by a bigger space.

The menu leans on South Jutland flavors, smoked eel with gnocchi is one plate, and shifts with what's in season. At this size, the kitchen stays close enough to the tables that a bigger restaurant chasing the same ambition just couldn't match it.

🌟WOW – I have to share this experience! The food was absolutely amazing: delicate, well thought out and with perfect portions, so you were full, but still wanted more. The wine was sitting right in the cupboard and lifted it all. The atmosphere is something very special – calm, relaxed and with acoustics where you can actually hear each other. As someone who is sensitive to noise, it was a huge gift. The service was also top notch. We were served by a young waiter who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. A complete experience – I will definitely be back! Thank you for an evening where I could just sit back and enjoy it all 🤍

Overall fantastic experience. Food was very good, wine pairing was superb. You get a lot of quality for the price. Service is very attentive and timely. The only downside is acoustics. If you happen to sit next to a large (and loud) company, it will be quite hard to hear your partner.
