Flo Salento
★ 4.7 · 194 reviews Cologne Opened 2025
Salento cooking gone fully plant-based, run by two sisters
Rice salad studded with olives, handmade orecchiette, focaccia piled with whatever topping is on rotation: sisters Rebecca and Roberta Chiriatti built Cologne's first restaurant dedicated to Salento, the cuisine of Italy's southern heel.
Every dish on the menu is vegan or vegetarian, translating the region's staples rather than diluting them. Find it on the quiet Poller Hauptstraße, a few steps from the Rhine on the city's right bank.

I had a lovely afternoon at your place. I hadn't expected such a relaxed, summery, Mediterranean atmosphere in Poll. The Ciceri e Tria was delicious, though it could have easily fed a construction worker 😉. I've never seen a separate menu for herbal liqueurs in any other restaurant. The fact that there was also a non-alcoholic option for me was the icing on the cake. I'll definitely be back to try the antipasti...

Discovered quite by chance and truly surprised. Very friendly service, vegetarian and vegan options. Handmade pasta, also available to buy and take home. A small, beautiful, shady terrace surrounded by olive trees and jasmine. A dream, a bit pricey, but you don't eat there every day. Really lovely and original.

The four of us (two vegetarians, two omnivores) ate at Flo Salento, and everyone was happy. Charming service, delicious appetizers, and homemade pasta, one of which was even deep-fried. My favorite was the fava bean purée with broccoli rabe and croutons. Buonissimo! A fresh salad or something similar for guests who prefer something lighter would certainly be nice, but we happily devoured the southern Italian comfort food ;) I would definitely recommend it.

The food took me right back to Apulien, especially the handmade noodles were super delicious. This is the kind of place where you go if you want to try real Italian food that you that’s almost impossible to find outside of Italy. Everything is vegetarian with vegan options available.
