Drop Shop

Half wine shop, half wine bar, a few streets from Parliament
Drop Shop sits on Balassi Bálint utca behind Parliament and works both ways: shelves of bottles to take away, and a bar where you can drink anything on them with a corkage charge. The room is plain and slightly industrial.
The list runs Hungarian and imported wine together, which is less common here than it should be, and the staff pour tastes rather than lecturing. It is a quiet alternative to the Jewish Quarter wine bars.
Good to know
- Any bottle on the shelf can be opened at the bar for a corkage fee.

We had such a great time at Drop Shop. Stopped in for a quick glass and ended up stay for a while. The Staff was so friendly and recommended a some great food and wine options. Would definitely go back.

Relaxing space with knowledgeable and charismatic owner. He did a great job educating us on different Hungarian wines and made us feel welcome. One of our favorite spots this trip!

Service was polite and useful, place has a very wide selection of wine, both Hungarian and international. We got good recommendation according to our taste, however they never ask for your budget and gives you according to your taste only without mentioning price. One wine we were served was triple price the other one and while very good the bill was surprising. I think the price range should be mentioned when they recommend higher end wines.

🍷 50 wines by the glass. Love it. Starting from 2k Ft ~ £4. These wines are 2-3X more expensive in London.
