MIYU opened on Veres Pálné utca in July 2025 as a matcha specialist rather than a café that happens to serve matcha. Grades are listed separately, the tea is whisked to order, and there is a menu of preparations beyond the standard latte.

The matcha wave hit Budapest late and hard in 2025, and this was the opening that set the standard the later ones are measured against.

I absolutely loved Miyu Matcha! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm and relaxing atmosphere. The teas are absolutely delicious, and you can really taste the quality. The staff are incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find such a cozy and charming place. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who loves great tea and a lovely atmosphere!

I have had matcha all over Japan and this place rivals the ones I had there. Had the fig vanilla and the salted maple matcha and they were incredible! Unique flavors and great amount of matcha intensity! Highly recommend!

Best matcha in Budapest! The flavours were so unique and delicious and they use real, good quality matcha. Staff is amazing as well!

Lovely matcha, one of the best quality ones I've had in budapest! I got the blueberry lemon one which was the perfect sweetness and didn't overpower the matcha flavour, the staff were also so friendly and brought a smile to our faces!
