A thousand records and a Technics turntable behind the bar

Middle Room sits inside The Courtyard in Shanti Nagar, drawing equally from Japanese jazz kissas and old Bengaluru rock pubs. Over a thousand records line one wall, and a Technics SL-1200 spins behind the bar most nights while DJ Murthovic moves from jazz to soul to psychedelic rock.

The drink list leans beer: Kolsch, local stouts, simple beer cocktails. The proper cocktails pull South Indian ingredients across the bar, tender coconut water in a whisky highball, curry leaves and peppercorns in a gin sour, filter coffee liqueur in a bourbon nightcap. Chef Adithya Kidambi's birria dosa is exactly what it sounds like.
