Five years in coffee vans, now a proper shop on High Street

Álainn spent five years running coffee vans and window stalls around Galway before landing its first permanent spot on High Street. This is home base now.

Expect açaí bowls with a long list of bases and toppings, plus coffee strong enough to hold its own black. Weekends push closing to 10pm.

The guy on the counter was kind enough to check the allergens for me just to be sure nothing had lactose, which I think says a lot about how attentive and sweet the staff in Álainn is. The Classic Acai Bowl was lovely; definitely coming back again.

Extraordinary Experience-the excellent service and personality plus of Anna, Kayleigh & owner Gerard matched the Dreamy Açaí bowls & coffee. The P & B Açaí Bowl ROCKED MY WORLD! The three of them took the time to give us travel tips. The Matcha was SUPERB. CANT wait to GO BACK every day we are in Galway and try every Açaí Bowl & the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich.

The baristas and cashier were very friendly and welcoming. My friends and I stayed for a long time, kept ordering, and asked a lot of questions, but they were always patient and never complained. They have a great variety of coffee and matcha options. I ordered the iced vanilla latte twice and it was absolutely delicious! The only thing I’d mention is that they don’t have many dessert/pastry options yet (maybe because they recently opened), but the Biscoff dessert was really good. Overall, great experience and I’ll definitely be back!
