The bar that took over Caribou and left it almost exactly as it was.

Cadell opened at 31 Woodquay on 18 July 2024, six months after Caribou closed in the same spot. The new owners are all from Galway, and they said from day one that they wanted to keep Caribou's spirit alive, so they changed almost nothing inside or out.

Expect craft beer, cocktails, and a shelf of board games. The food menu was still just a plan when the doors opened. It sits between Flaherty's Paints and Tígín bar, next to the caribou mural that got damaged during some access work. Word is they'll repaint it.

Allllllll Welcome. Honestly been in Ireland for the last 3 weeks. The owner was the bartender (Mark) and then Owen took over. Literally the best Irish pub experience we have had in Ireland. Come, drink, and be merry!

Absolutely beauty of a bar so welcoming. I stayed the rooms above the pub while working away, fresh water tea and coffee and a comfy bed what more could you ask for

Frequent Cadells often but this evening was served an even bigger treat than usual. Got a glass of water as I wasn’t in the drinking buzz and was presented with easily the most beautiful glass of water I have ever laid my eyes on. Thank you Cadells, always and forever a pleasure.

Great spot, always good vibes. A friend and I were in today and our food got delayed by a big group looking for food. The delay wasn’t even that long but the head chef Aaron came over and gave us a genuine apology and bought us each a drink. Cheers Aaron you’re a legend 😎😎
