Spanish wine and tapas where a pink tea room used to be, by the Spanish Arch.

La Viña opened on 15 May 2024 in the Quay Lane space that used to be An Cupán Tae, the pink-fronted tea rooms by the Spanish Arch. It's the second bar from the team behind The Lane on Kirwan's Lane, this one built around Spanish wine.

The refit kept the big windows onto the lane and added wine racks, tall stools and a darker palette. Tapas come mostly from western Irish suppliers instead of imports, so the seafood, cheese and cured meats are local, served in a Spanish format. Service starts at 4pm.

    Very nice place. Great atmosphere. I would recommend. We had a nice experience except when we were ready to pay we waited to pay for 40 minutes. I flagged the server twice. She acknowledged and never came over with check or to cash out. That was very frustrating. Apparently you have to go to the bartender to cash out for your dinner. It’s was very confusing. But it’s a nice spot and you will like it. I would recommend this restaurant for sure.

    We love to thank Leona and Desi for incredible service. We absolutely love this restaurant. It has become my favourite restaurant in Galway and maybe even the world.     A lovely Spanish restaurant near the Spanish Arch in Galway. The food was great, we shared some tapas, but the pricing was not Spanish. They have quick strict rules for reservations on OpenTable.

    A lovely little spot for tapas and wine with Irish ingredients. The live flamenco guitar adds an amazing atmosphere — definitely a great wine bar to spend the evening in.

    It was my first time here and I had an amazing time. I will absolutely be back here and will recommend to friends and family! Food was delicious and well priced, service was attentive and friendly. Great dinner out
