Two childhood friends, one big menu, in San Isidro's suit-and-tie blocks

Marco Piera and Jean Paul Barbieri grew up together and now run this lunch spot in the middle of San Isidro's office towers. The food is everyday Peruvian, done generously: chaufa de lomo, corvina milanesa, seco norteño, portions built for people who skipped breakfast.

Save room for the crema volteada, it's the dish regulars order dessert for first. Every other lunch room around here plays it formal. Buche doesn't.

Delicious dishes; they mainly serve Creole food and some international options. The Huancaina sauce was perfect. We tried a cachapa with cheese and sausage that was amazing. The main courses were fish and meat-based. The place is small, just one floor, but well laid out. The service was good.

Reservations are required on weekends; otherwise, be prepared to wait. The food was good, but the papa a la huancaína was a bit overcooked, and the sauce was very shiny (too much oil). The fried calamari was very good, and the salsa criolla, tartar sauce, and tiradito cream were excellent complements. The chicken milanesa with Caesar salad had a spectacular presentation, but the milanesa itself was just average. The seafood rice was good, but it lacked a bit of flavor—more seafood taste. It wasn't bad, but it's more comparable to a tomato risotto with seafood. The desserts were good; the flan was very good, and the chocolate cake with a slightly salty sauce was pleasant. The service, contrary to some other diners' comments, was average.

We went for lunch and ordered a shrimp causa as an appetizer and black pasta a lo macho as a main course. The staff was friendly and always attentive in case we needed anything. We sat near the entrance, and the restaurant was the perfect size for a family meal. The food took a while to arrive (about 20 minutes), but it was served at the ideal temperature for enjoying it. I loved the presentation of the dishes.

Wow, Buche! We loved it! Everything we ordered was spectacular, and the service was great too (even though they were packed). I recommend making a reservation because there's always a wait, and I also recommend choosing a table on the terrace side. We were seated at a table inside very close to the kitchen, which made it a little difficult to talk, but we still really enjoyed our lunch. The flan is amazing!
