Skip the steam trays. Island's Kaohsiung outpost runs live-catch seafood and cooked-to-order stations, with a wine pairing program most buffets in Taiwan don't bother offering. The menu was retuned for southern palates instead of copying the Taipei flagship, and the NT$200 million build shows in every corner of the 8th-floor room.

Reservations open at 11am on the 1st of each month for slots two months out. Locals set alarms for it and it still sells out in minutes. Book early or don't bother.

All you can eat buffet, very delicious fine food. A lot of variety with different wine and alcoholic beverages at every station. They serve fresh juice, beer on tap and espresso coffee. Seafood is so fresh and nigiri are my favorite! Must try for experience too.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a wonderful dining experience at Island Buffet Kaohsiung! The buffet offers a fantastic variety of fresh seafood, sushi, sashimi, grilled dishes, desserts, and local specialties. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, attentive, and efficient, making us feel welcome throughout the meal. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and comfortable, creating a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy with family and friends. Definitely one of the best buffet experiences in Kaohsiung. Great value for the quality and selection. I would happily come back again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kaohsiung!

On June 22nd, four of us had dinner at the Han Lai Hotel in Kaohsiung. It truly was a case of "you get what you pay for." Their seafood selection was amazing: snow crab legs, scallops, prawns, squid, lamb chops, and beef steaks were all incredibly tender. The roast duck was absolutely delicious, and the spicy "Three Delicacies" (beef tripe, brisket, and tendon) were fantastic. They also had unlimited red and white wine, coffee, cocktails, and fresh juices. The ambiance was clean, and the servers were incredibly helpful, constantly changing our plates. In short, it was definitely worth the trip; it's probably my number one buffet in Kaohsiung.
