The East District hotel with vinyl in every room
Every room here comes with a record player, which tells you exactly who this hotel is for. Retro-modern rooms sit three minutes from Zhongxiao Fuxing, right where East District shopping and eating happens, and upper floors look straight at Taipei 101.
The real perk is the lounge. It's open to every guest, not just suite bookers, with a nightly happy hour pouring free-flow wine and all-day snacks. Taichung bar Lay Low runs the DJ and jazz sets.

I stayed here because it’s a Hyatt hotel. But Hyatt hotels in Taipei have been most disappointing, this one included. I’ve stayed here twice and never got a suite upgrade as a Globalist member. Their regular rooms are generally quite small. Both times I got the room with the balcony. Interesting setup with the bathroom almost semi-outdoors, but after a while, it feels more gimmicky than pragmatic. The hotel is themed around Taiwanese pop culture. I love the albums at the lounge on the same floor as the front desk. They also have a cute CD player in each room and randomly assign a CD to the room. A nice touch if you grew up listening to Mandopop. There’s a complimentary happy hour in the evening, and Globalist members get a voucher for a drink or food item. But nothing spectacular; just a light snack. There is a tiny gym behind the front desk. It has a couple of cardio machines, a cable machine and some free weights. Probably feels crowded with more than three people in there. I don’t think there are any other facilities. Service feels a little awkward. Apparently you check in using a self-service kiosk, though the staff will generally help you. But I’m not sure how helpful they are. I requested that the invoice be sent to me via email. It’s been two days and I haven’t received it. Breakfast at Texas Roadhouse is a little boring, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a local experience. I had the American breakfast set, which was very ordinary except the Texas cheese bread that was pretty good. You can also order from the Cafe!n next door, but the menu is mostly just sandwiches. Service can be a little slow. Location is pretty good, with lots of shopping, and just a few minutes walk to the Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT.

This hotel is so luxurious, even after one day I'm writing this review. I got the hotel with hyatt points through an extended stay I had a while ago for work. The hotel room convept is stunning, with a sunken in bathtub with floor to ceiling windows. Bed is incredibly comfortable. Evertyhing in the room is top notch. Only complaint is it is bizarre that you have to walk through a texas roadhouse to get to the hotel (I guess only in Taiwan) and the 5th floor lobby is so loud as the reception desk is crammed into their drinks/meeting place called the social. It is hectic having to check in in such a loud environment. I know its a small detail, but for boutique luxury hotels, these details matter. There has to be some way to partition off the reception area from the lounge/drinks area. Other than that, hotel is immaculate

There aren't many hotels with room for four in Taipei, luckily I found this one with two bunk beds which works perfectly. It's 5 minutes walk to the two main metro lines intersection. Staff members are very friendly. The lobby lounge has snacks and drinks for all. It also have music or comedy shows as well. The bunk beds room is pretty spacious. It's interesting that the shower is between the room and balcony with glasses on both sides. The first floor is Outback Steakhouse, what a surprise. It's also the breakfast place. As Hyatt Globalist, we got free breakfast for the whole family.

Had an excellent 4 night stay as a globalist. Rooms were clean and up to date, i really liked the voice command AI for room operation. Location is perfect to access MRT and very close to Daan neighborhood which is hip and chic. Breakfast was really good at Texas roadhouse and the other café. I got the American breakfast 3 days in a row which was very filling and high quality. Daily happy hour was a nice touch, and gym had all the essentials. Would definitely come back.

We had a great experience at this hotel and definitely recommend it! Great room with a lovely tub. Had a nice time at the bar when there was a jazz show. There is always candy out for guests which I really appreciate lol. Perfect location for us to explore Taipei for the first time.
