A quiet pool hotel tucked into Chiang Mai's Old City corner
Pim Old Town sits on Jhaban Road, a narrow lane in the northeast corner of the Old City moat, and it's small: a handful of rooms around a pool, with an open-air lobby right at the street entrance. The same owners run Pim Riverside on the Ping.
Wat Chiang Man, the oldest temple inside the walls, is a short walk away, and the Sunday Walking Street runs a few hundred metres south on Ratchadamnoen. Rooms come with garden or mountain views, breakfast's included, and the pool is the spot to cool off before heading back out.
Good to know
- Jhaban Road is a back lane in the northeast quarter of the Old City - quiet at night, five minutes' walk to Wat Chiang Man.
- The pool and open-air lobby sit right at the entrance, so ask for a room set back if you want silence.

Beautiful brand new hotel in a great location of Chiang Mai. Win and the rest of the staff were very kind and accommodating. Delicious brekkie every morning. Super close to the Sunday night markets, coin laundry next door and a great massage place 2 doors down called my shop massage. Will happily stay here every time I come back and visit, they made it feel like a home away from home 10/10!!

I don’t desire luxury but the hotel was perfect for our family. It is relatively new hotel with great beds and linen and towels. The service is excellent and wonderful staff… all the staff. Breakfast is lovely with healthy options including local delicacies. Extended for a week. Perfect homely no fuss hotel in Old Town location.

The perfect Chiang Mai base — Old Town charm, big-city thoughtfulness, and staff who genuinely care Pim Old Town was our home for four nights at the start of a two-week Thailand trip, and it set a standard the rest of the country spent two weeks trying to match. Start with the location, because it’s unbeatable: you are inside the Old Town, walking distance to the temples, cafés, and massage houses, minutes from the Sunday Walking Street, and perfectly placed for early tour pickups — every elephant sanctuary and Doi Suthep van collects you right at the door. Yet the street itself is quiet at night, which in Chiang Mai’s Old Town is a small miracle. The hotel gets the fundamentals exactly right. Our room was spacious, spotless, and properly comfortable, with strong air conditioning and a genuinely good shower — the things that actually matter after long temple days. Housekeeping was immaculate and every corner of the property feels cared for. But what elevates Pim is the people. The front desk team went far beyond the job description for us: patient directions and honest local advice, help booking tours and transport, and small kindnesses all week — including sending us off on a rainy morning with an umbrella without our even asking, then cheerfully taking it back days later. When one of us had a rough stomach day, they pointed us to the nearest pharmacy with real concern. That’s the difference between staff who work at a hotel and people who host you. Special mention to breakfast and the coffee nearby, to the easy scooter/taxi access for Doi Suthep, and to the sheer convenience of walking home through lantern-lit lanes every evening. Chiang Mai gave us elephants, cooking classes, mountain temples, and night markets — and Pim Old Town quietly made all of it easy. If you’re choosing where to stay in the Old Town, you can stop looking. We’d return without hesitation. 🙏

We had a wonderful stay at this newly open boutique hotel in Chiang Mai Old Town. The location is good as is easy to walk to many nearby attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Win and Chen. The room was clean, cozy, and the bed was very comfortable; with great water pressure in the shower. We also enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snacks in the lobby, especially the homemade cookies. Overall, we enjoy our stay. Great value.

An absolute gem in Chiang Mai! We stayed at Pim Old Town for 3 nights and it was fantastic. The rooms are brand new, beautiful, and very clean. The staff is incredibly nice, welcoming, and provided top-notch service. The highlight of our stay was definitely the complimentary unlimited snacks and drinks available for guests. If you are visiting Chiang Mai, this is highly recommended!
