Zhennan Teabar Hotel
Chiang Mai Opened 7 January 2024
Twelve rooms above a gongfu tea bar near Wat Phra Singh
Check in and someone pours you tea before you even see your room. Zhennan's ground floor is a proper gongfu tea bar working through Tibetan, Chinese and Japanese leaf, and the twelve rooms upstairs feel almost secondary to it.
The building is plain, with street-facing balconies and a shared lounge, and rates sit at the budget end. Locals wander in for tea without ever booking a room, and Thai food writers cover it as a tea room first. On Ratchamanka Road, a few minutes from Wat Phra Singh.
Good to know
- The tea bar is open to the street from 9am to 6pm and does not require a room booking.
- Ask for the Face Lemon Tea if you want something cold; otherwise let them brew gongfu style at the counter.
