Cucina 24's old kitchen crew, now on Depot Street
The pasta at Crusco comes from the same hands that ran Cucina 24's kitchen for years, and it shows. This is that team's second act, moved into the former Vivian space in the River Arts District with an Italian-leaning menu built on that experience.
Dinner runs Wednesday through Sunday. Opening night pulled in old Cucina 24 regulars right alongside RAD locals, which doesn't happen often when a restaurant crosses a river.

Incredible! This lovely restaurant, located centrally for River Arts District exploration, is a never-failing delight! Service is timely, knowledgeable, & cheery. The seasonally-rotating food will blow you away. Elevated without being pretentious, & friendly to multiple types of diets. Their cocktails: I haven't the words to describe the creativity & balanced mixology happening at Crusco. Can I sing its praises any higher? Well, I'll try. Additionally, it's charming with a whisper of upscale-casual atmosphere. Inside & outside seating available. Gender-neutral washrooms with ample space for wheelchairs were a plus! Parking is on the street or a nearby lot. I'll be returning time & time again.

Wow! We tried the dinner for 2, $75 and you pick 2 apps 2 veg and 1 entree. Service, atmosphere, and food were all over the top! Especially notable were the super interesting flavor combos and unusual vegetable dishes. This is one of the top restaurants in Asheville now and our only disappointment is that we haven’t been sooner!

Absolutely wonderful restaurant! We had incredible food, it was all seasonal, fresh, and unique. Our server was fantastic she explained each dish perfectly along with describing the incredible wine list. The entire staff was attentive, it felt very seamless and detailed but not pretentious. We never felt rushed or pressured. The covered patio was small, felt intimate and cozy, not too close to your neighbors. Each plate was beautiful, about 3/4 pieces on every dish which was perfect for our group of 3! I would absolutely go back and enjoy the bar seating and whatever creative seasonal menu they come up with!

Just to qualify this review, I’ve been in the hospitality business for 30+ years and my team has created and opened over 50 restaurants. So please believe me when I tell you, this is one of the best restaurants in Asheville. There are many great restaurants in this town, but very few are firing on all three levels: 1) culinary, 2) service, and 3) ambiance. Crusco is bringing culinary excellence to one of the best foodie towns in America with handcrafted dishes, amazing flavors, and a unique dining experience. Please support this team and what they are bringing to this community! I also want to give a shout out to our server Anastasia who made our evening very special.
