Apothecary

A practising pharmacist's cocktail bar

Eric Reid works as a pharmacist, and opened Apothecary on North Clark in May 2026 around the idea that a bar can be a place of care rather than volume. The room is deliberately quiet and unhurried by Lakeview standards.

Beverage director Zachary Heller, previously at CH Distillery and Soho House, builds the list on house infusions and herbal ingredients. Chef Jacquelyn Lord handles the food, including a duck confit flatbread. No vials of hair of the dog, despite the name.

All around great experience. Came in on a Monday night and there was a good crowd. The inside is modern, it’s nice to have a good cocktail bar in that part of the neighborhood. The owner is a former pharmacist and all the drinks have a proposed health benefit which was fun to explore. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable and most importantly, drinks were delicious.

Great cocktail bar with elevated bites. Extensive beverage selections in many categories, including NA and low ABV as well as many amaros (amari?). . Don’t hesitate to ask if you’re unfamiliar with some of the ingredients; they use a lot of different components in the beverages, particularly in service to the apothecary theme. There is some great creativity going on in these drinks. Beautiful room and vive immediately upon entry with a warm host ace then mixologist welcome. Many seating and standing configurations.. DJ sets every Thursday night. It’s still new but I can tell reservations are going to become a must soon. Crowd skews, pretty gay, but that’s to be expected in that neighborhood. Overall there WAS variety of people early on a Thursday evening. Standout food are the flatbreads— one of the best crusts ever (crispy AND fluffy) and the banh mi one was superb. Heard others comment that the fries really were great. Sesame tuna was excellently cooked, but ultimately not to my flavor palette. We had several cocktails, including one that I had to send back (my mistake not to clarify flavor profile) which they Graciously did accept. Everything was decently priced, which makes planning to go back frequently very realistic. Restrooms were individual stairs with little sinks. Decent toilet paper and hand towels. No supplies. Music pumped in as well. Kind of chilly though. Drinks/Food: A Restrooms: B Overall: A-

Beautiful, roomy space, with delightful bites, and complex cocktails Apothecary resides behind a graceful glass storefront and perhaps understated signage lanterns. The interior has a earthy vibe with deep browns and greens. The seats arent packed in tight so I didnt feel cramped or crowded, and the staff is lovely. The premise of the lounge is the intersection of drinks and mildly medicinal effects of various ingredients. I came here with a couple friends and we started with the rosemary honey popcorn. It's decadent and delicious, with just a hint a complex sweetness. The herbal tones elevated the popcorn, and it's well seasoned, not salty to movie theater levels, but tasty and matching the bar's classy vibe. Might not be quite as crisp as I like but well worth $4 pricetag. My first drink was the Pink Gin Old fashioned. The ingredients are functionally a Gin and Tonic but somehow the bitters and the big cube of ice gives the adequate old fashioned vibes. Easy to sip, not too harsh. Next I tried the Youngest and Poorest, a refreshing spritz. Pink and floral, pineappley but not sweet. The flavor is very light, I could have used something more punchy, but if youre looking for a easy sip, its perfect

The bespoke cocktail bar that easy Lakeview has been missing! It's so nice to come to a great bar and have all of your expectations be exceeded. We came on a Tuesday and it was surprisingly busy but we snagged seats at the bar. I had two different old fashioneds, and each was amazing. My wife had two separate mocktails and they were not your regular lazy mocktails, each took time and were very tasty. We only had the chocolate mousse for food, which was great, but will be back soon for a date night. Can't wait to see this bar succeed.
