Hard Rock Las Vegas
Las Vegas Opens October 2027
A 660-foot guitar rising where the Mirage stood
The Mirage closed on 17 July 2024 after 35 years. Steve Wynn's 1989 resort invented the modern Strip megaresort. Owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Hard Rock International bought the site and is spending billions on the rebuild.
The centerpiece is a 660-foot guitar-shaped tower, echoing the original Hollywood building. It adds roughly 600 rooms to the rebuilt original Mirage tower. Construction passed the halfway mark in early 2026, on track for a late-2027 opening.
Good to know
- Not open yet - the target is early in the fourth quarter of 2027. The guitar-shaped tower is already visible from most of the Strip.
- The original Mirage tower and its rainforest atrium are being kept and refurbished, so the volcano is gone but the bones of the 1989 resort survive.
