PopUp Bagels

Bagels, spreads, and nothing else
PopUp Bagels arrived in the Gulch in February 2026 from Connecticut, selling only bagels and tubs of spread. You are supposed to rip them apart while they are hot and dunk rather than slice and build a sandwich, and the staff will tell you so.
Schmears rotate: plain and scallion always, plus vodka sauce, piña colada or pesto butter depending on the week. They sell out most Saturdays before noon.

Very fresh hot out the oven! The bagels are great if they are hot. Once they are room temp they are very mid. Even room temp bagels from zuckers in nyc are waaaaay better so its really a matter of preference. Proper bagel is also better in terms of texture and flavor. The best thing they have going for them is that its hot and fresh out the oven, in terms of flavor they are lacking, i know bagels and the best ones are in Montreal, even at a day old, one of those bagel tastes galaxies better than pop up but it is good, just nothing to wait on line for. The scallion cream cheese is very yummy though.

Popup Bagels has awesome bagels with a soft center and crispy crusty outside, like a proper NY bagel (I’m from NJ originally). I was visiting Nashville and popped in to grab a quick breakfast and the vibe was awesome. I was quickly welcomed in, the staff member at the register was really nice, and my bagels were fresh and ready in under 60 seconds. Coffee was surprisingly good as well. Highly recommend this place for a quick and delicious breakfast

The salt bagel with the scallion cream cheese was very good! You can only buy 3,6 or 12 bagels with a tub of cream cheese. We got 6 bagels. It was cheaper to do 3 packs with 2 cream cheese rather than a 6 pack with an extra cream cheese

PopUp Bagels has boldly asked the question: What if a bagel arrived so hot you couldn't reasonably be expected to slice it? Their entire philosophy is refreshingly simple—hot, fresh bagels served straight from the oven, with the encouragement to tear them apart and drag each steaming piece through a cloud of cream cheese. It's less "breakfast" and more "bagel fondue." And honestly? It works. A truly hot bagel is a rare and beautiful thing. My only dislike is that the ordering system seems designed for someone with either a large family, several close friends, or a particularly ambitious appetite. As a solo diner, being required to buy three bagels feels a bit like being handed a puppy when you only stopped in for a cup of coffee. By bagel number three, you're no longer participating in a culinary experience—you're managing inventory. Still, the bagels are good, the concept is fun, and for a brief moment while tearing into that first hot bagel, you'll understand why New Yorkers become insufferable about bread. 4 out of 5 schmears

We had such a great experience at Pop-up Bagel in Nashville! The bagels were absolutely amazing — super fresh, perfectly chewy, and full of flavor. We tried the salt bagel, the everything bagel, and a couple different smears, and everything was fantastic. A huge shoutout to Sydney, who greeted us out on the street and explained the whole process before we even walked in. She was awesome, incredibly friendly, and such a great representative for Pop-up Bagel. She really made the experience even better. You can tell they care about quality and freshness. Really, really good bagels and definitely worth checking out if you’re in Nashville!
