The Wash's Cuban kitchen, now bigger on Charlotte
Soy Cubano built its following in The Wash and in April 2026 took the old Taqueria del Sol space on Charlotte Avenue, roughly three times the size. The pastel Art Deco dining room is new; the croquetas, pan con lechón and mojo pork are not.
Start with a cortadito. The original location still runs, but this is the one with room to sit down at lunch.

☕️ Wonderful experience at Soy Cubano! ☕️ Great attentive staff ☕️ Flavorful food and drinks ☕️ Beautiful decor and spacious outdoor patio with fans and shade for the summer heat. ☕️ Free parking which a rare these days ☕️ Super friendly owners ☕️10/10 recommend!

This restaurant is incredible! We’ve had it for both breakfast and dinner now and throughly enjoyed each meal, as well as the coffee! For breakfast, we had the ham, egg, and cheese sandwich, yuca & eggs, and a guava cream cheese pastry and would recommend them all! The cafecito and iced lattes were wonderful as well!

An excellent restaurant! I highly recommend the colada to share - it will wake you up in only a few sips! Breakfast is also excellent too. Very good value. Highly recommend.

I didn't expect much on my first visit but I was taken away by the Havana Banana! Omg such a great creamy coffee and I don't drink that much coffee! The food is very filling and heavy, honestly suggest you share!
