Pastis

The New York brasserie, in the May Hosiery factory
Pastis took years to get here and opened in the May Hosiery complex in June 2025 with the whole bistro kit intact: mosaic floors, red banquettes, distressed tin ceilings. Onion soup, boeuf bourguignon and duck confit are on the menu, as they have to be.
The curved zinc bar is the best seat in the room and takes walk-ins when the dining room is booked out, which it usually is by Thursday.

A bright, upscale, turn of the century setting with a full bar, extensive wine list, and full service, Pastis is very good, but misses the mark. The Escargot were small, good, but unremarkable. The (French) Onion Soup is very light and is overpowered by all the cheese. The Crispy Artichokes were soaked in oil. The Bouillabaisse is excellent as was the Mousse. Service was attentive, but our wine wine was not kept at the table. There is no handicap parking.

This is the restaurant Nashville has needed for a long time. If you love French cuisine, this is where you want to go. Fantastic food. Fantastic cocktails. Fantastic service. Standouts were the foie gras parfait, the escargot, the country pate, and the bread pudding for dessert. And the baguettes were divine. Book with confidence!

Very less vegtarian options. Ravioli was yumm. Omlet was ok. Cocktails were good. Outdoor patio ambience was too good. It was a pleasant warm afternoon. Vanilla bean creme brulee was delicious. Great service.

We had dinner at Pastis Nashville for the first time and had an amazing experience! Our food was amazing, and the oysters were the best oysters I have ever had! Our server was extremely friendly and very attentive. We visited on a Sunday night. It was consistently busy with moderate noise, but that did not affect our experience at all. Our food was cooked to perfection and served in a timely manner. I highly recommend Pastis Nashville and look forward to dining here again soon!

Dining at Pastis was an absolute treat from start to finish. We sat on the patio, and the ambiance was perfect—relaxed yet elegant, with that classic French bistro feel that makes you want to linger over every course. We started with the ricotta ravioli, and it was outstanding. The sauce was perfectly balanced with just the right sweetness, the pasta was cooked flawlessly, and the ricotta filling was light, airy, and incredibly flavorful. The Caesar salad was another highlight. The fresh shaved Parmesan added richness, while the salty croutons balanced the bold anchovy flavor beautifully. It was a simple dish executed exceptionally well. For mains, the NY strip steak frites was phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly—honestly couldn’t have been better—and the fries tasted like they were double-fried to crispy perfection. The béarnaise sauce was easily the best I’ve had—rich, silky, and packed with flavor. The chicken paillard was just as impressive. The chicken was slightly crispy, perfectly seasoned, and paired beautifully with the fraîche salad and olives, which added brightness and balance to the dish. Truly unbelievable. We finished with the crème brûlée, and it was exactly how this classic dessert should be. The custard had the perfect smooth consistency, and the sugar crust was thin, crisp, and deeply satisfying to crack into. Overall, every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and executed at a high level. Combined with the perfect patio ambiance, this was an easy 5/5 stars experience. We’ll absolutely be back.
