Tortillas pressed to order, and a trompo worth the trip
Santo Taco comes from one of the founders of Cosme, and the ambition shows in the least glamorous part of the operation: staff weigh masa balls and press each tortilla on the grill as the order comes in.
The steak trompo is the reason to queue. It's shaved so thin off the spit it nearly disappears into the tortilla. Carnitas come with chicharrones, carne asada with charred steak and fried potato cubes. There's a salsa bar. La Esquina runs downstairs in the same building.

As a Mexican, I’d give the tacos a 6/10. The tortilla had good flavor but was a bit dry….just my personal preference. The Oaxaca cheese tasted a bit cheap, maybe I’m bugging out. Didn’t love it, but I’d come back if I needed an emergency taco fix. The outdoor tables are uncomfortable and wobbly. While my bf was in line paying, I peeked inside to check the table situation, and the guy who seems to be the manager bugged out on me…..thought I was cutting the line (?). He’s a weird individual, idk who he thinks he is lol. Kind of embarrassing since this isn’t Mexican hospitality at all. He was condescending to staff and customers too which was honestly funny to watch. I get it was a busy Saturday, but please relax I promise it is not that deep. Overall place doesn’t feel 100% authentic.

Really amazing tacos. The meat was cooked perfectly, and spices were balanced well with the sauces. Highly Recommended!

I’ve had this place saved since they opened so I finally decided to go! There was a popup of Peter Luger steak tacos and the weather was good so I had to go. There was no line and there was a live band! They were also giving away paletas also known as popsicle sticks. I wasn’t going to get anything because I don’t like chocolate or tajin. So I decided to get the mango tajin and make sure I got rid of all the tajin first lol The vibe was so New Yorker I loved it! The only thing I didn’t like was their Peter Luger steak! Not tasty at all! I felt like it didn’t even have any seasoning! I def. would go back for their Steak Trompo! It was so savory and delish! I would def. go back and try their rest of their tacos.

I thought both steak tacos were so yummy!! Great indoor & outdoor seats. Fast service. Toppings bar. Had a nice meal here :D
