Timestead opened in the Gaslamp in August 2025 at 1065 Fourth Avenue, part of Modern Times splitting itself into separate beer, hospitality and coffee brands.

It's a pub, not a taproom, and that's the distinction worth knowing: a proper bar, proper food, and a beer list that isn't only their own. Chronos Hall in East Village came out of the same reshuffle.

This place is great. Second time here but first time getting food. The mango hab wings were delicious. Not usually a fan of breaded but they got them so right! Great selection of beer, great service, and open layout to feel like you're outside. Shout out to Gordon my bartender. It's a new place so come check them out!

Incredible section in the back of Modern Times Encinitas filled with vinyl records from the 1960s to current. It is a nice little record store by Vinyl Record Rarities (a San Diego Small Biz). Anyone can enjoy great food, supurb drinks and beer, along with amazing tunes. All genres on hand to include modern, classic rock, funk, soul, jazz, pop, rap, reggae, country, edm, disco, soundtracks, and more. The Vinyl is restocked multiple times every month and the records always hit the new arrival section first. Long live Vinyl Records!!!

I was walking through the Gaslamp quarter and got hungry . Saw this place went in and I was happy I found it. Friendly people and a great meal. Not crowded. Loved it.
