Val's Vegan Kitchen

Late-night vegan food on El Cajon Boulevard

Val's Vegan Kitchen opened on 15 October 2025 at 2611 El Cajon Boulevard, doing plant-based versions of the food you actually want at midnight rather than the salad-and-grain-bowl register most vegan kitchens settle into.

The late hours are the whole reason it exists. North Park after 10pm is otherwise a choice between pizza and regret.

Love Val's and Evolution Fast Food. Delicious and worth the price! The outdoor space is so cute and you can tell a lot of effort is put into the atmosphere. I also love the seasonal / holiday menu items. Most of the time they keep those items after the posted dates as well! Yummy! šŸ”

Jackie & Jillian were super sweet & helpful with placing our order and giving us great feedback/recommendations. Even the back of house smiled at me which made me feel welcome. We got the Veggielicious & Veggie KBBQ burgers and added curly fries to one of the orders for an additional $3. Both burgers were yummy since we had them cut in halves to share. I preferred the Veggie KBBQ and liked the regular french fries surprisingly over the curly ones. We plan to return in the future. Be mindful that there’s a small eating area since the location is shared with another restaurant which I found rare yet nice. The only improvement that I noticed was that the restrooms need tending to even though they were so cute inside. Gracias VVK! Sending the owners, staff and customers success šŸ™šŸ¼šŸ˜‡

Yum!! Wow what an extensive menu. I could have ate here every day all week I was visiting easily. Really loved the mushroom and Swiss burger and my friend loved her bowl! But omg don’t miss out on the chocolate - the rayluca in the fridge by the register is SO good and so are the same brand chocolates you can buy on the side. Went back to just get more chocolate to bring home. Lots of indoor seating and some cute spots outside too!

The food was pretty good. Had the Bulgogi Mac & Cheese and my girlfriend had the Korean BBQ Burger. I was a bit surprised to find out that the Mac & Cheese was spicy when it didn't clearly say that on the menu. The Burger was actually really good though! I give the atmosphere a 3/5 because half of the other restaurant that Val's is inside of was closed with the lights off. It kinda gave a weird vibe but maybe this place is more of a "to go" restaurant. Service I'd say 4/5. Staff was friendly but I felt like we waited quite a bit for our food after we ordered. I would still recommend this place to others though! If you happen to be in the area and prefer vegan food this is a nice place to pull over and grab food at overall.
