A Taraval Street bakery cafe out in the Parkside

Jandii opened at the corner of Taraval and 21st Avenue in June 2026, deep in the Parkside where the L Taraval runs down the middle of the street. It is a bakery and cafe, the format that has been slowly replacing the older storefronts along this corridor.

Taraval spent years torn up for the transit project and lost businesses to it. New openings out here are a straightforward sign of the street recovering, and this one is on one of its better corners.

Matcha einspanner, lightly sweet and a bit salty. Lovely presentation. Could do with a bit less ice. Scone comes hot, crumbly and crunchy. Delicious blueberry jam. A bit messy but worth it

TLDR: 4.5 stars. Hojicha latte was great as well as the scone and the space but the price is just a big high I think the hojicha latte is just the right amount of sweetness. The scone was fresh and tasted really nice, I also like the bottom space as it opens up and has great air circulation. The upper area is a bit too stuffy for my liking but plenty of people there as well. I took off half a star because the price is a bit too high for me to be a regular, $17 for a scone and iced coffee is just a bit too high to make this a regular spot.

Stopped by for the first time today with a friend, and we had a great experience. The coffee was excellent! I ordered the vanilla bean latte, and it had the perfect consistency and level of sweetness. You can really taste that it’s made with real vanilla beans. My friend ordered the flat white and loved hers as well. We also tried the scones. They’re plain, but they come with your choice of jam and have butter baked into the middle, which was a nice surprise. The outside was perfectly crunchy, making for a really delicious texture. The only thing I wish they had was a larger selection of pastries or food, especially since the space is so big and inviting. It’s the kind of place where you’d want to sit and stay for a while. I’d definitely love to come back and try their matcha next time. The service was fantastic. Noah was the highlight of our visit, he patiently explained everything, was incredibly friendly, and made us feel so welcome. He was such a pleasure to talk to, and his customer service was truly outstanding.

Beautiful interior design and a relaxing vibe, with plenty of seating. The coffee itself was pretty average and pricy: the flavor felt a bit flat, and the beans tasted over roasted than specialty-grade. I’d come back for the space, but probably not for the coffee.

this cafe is so pretty! i got the matcha einspanner (great matcha flavor and nice salty foam) and a scone with blackberry jam (so warm and flaky like the ones i’ve had in london). the atmosphere is relaxing, even though it was packed for the long weekend. there’s ample seating and pleasant music in the background + wifi. good mix of people working and chatting. will def be back on a less crowded weekday!
