Peruvian tapas and cocktails on an alley off New Montgomery
Next Chapter opened on Minna Street in June 2026, one of the SoMa alleys that runs behind Mission Street and collects bars precisely because nobody lives directly above them. The format is Peruvian small plates with a cocktail list, served as a lounge rather than a restaurant.
Minna has had bars come and go for thirty years. The ones that work do so on after-work trade from the offices on New Montgomery and Second, which means this is a Tuesday-to-Friday room more than a weekend one.

Great addition to SF! This Peruvian/ Mediterranean spot has amazing vibes, great music, delicious food, and excellent drinks. The empanadas were packed with flavor, and the green chimichurri sauce was 🔥. DeAndre and Chef Rob were both incredibly welcoming. Chef Rob even came out to personally introduce himself, which added a great personal touch. The premium tequila selection is impressive, and my mezcal cocktail was delicious. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and a fun, energetic atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu! 🍽️🍸✨

Next Chapter greets you with a professional staff. Nestled cozily in the heart of Yerba Buena - the lounge's unassuming, upscale vibe envelopes you in competence and sophistication without feeling pretentious. I recommend the Midnight Confession! The crème de banana and vanilla notes make this espresso martini very memorable!

I feel like this place is what SF is missing. For starters, the vibes are immaculate. Super comfy and very relaxed, lounge-like environment. Felt upscale restaurant meets jungle beats. See and be seen. All of the cocktails we had were delicious and beautifully made. The food was surprisingly the star. We loved everything - we literally told them to run it back and bring out a second round of everything. Our server was Nia - even though a stranger, it felt like we came to visit a friend at work. Everyone was more than generous with us. 10/10 so excited to bring friends from out of town here. Thank you!!

The atmosphere here was TOP TIER, so cute, so classy. The drinks were not only delicious but BEAUTIFUL as well. AND THE FOOD, it was too good. Im still dreaming about the chicken empanadas and steak skewers. All the servers were so sweet and accommodating. Truly a 10/10 experience
