A pick-and-mix candy shop lands on Chestnut Street
Lil Sweet Treat opened on Chestnut Street in June 2026, right in the middle of the Marina's shopping run between Pierce and Steiner. It sells sweets, the pick-and-mix kind, on a strip where the rest of the retail runs to athleisure and skincare.
Chestnut has stayed one of the few San Francisco shopping streets with low vacancy over the last few years, which makes the ground-floor spots here hard to land. A candy shop is an odd fit for that kind of rent, and that's part of why it stands out on the block.

I never really write reviews. This place left such an impression on me that I felt like I could not, in good conscience, NOT write one for this place. The interior boasts a cheerful color scheme, but it isn’t overwhelming. Their candy selection is vast and varied, but not to the point of it being, again, overwhelming. I think what really drove me to write a review, however, was how genuinely stellar the customer experience was. Melissa is such a bright, warm presence! She asked me about my candy preferences and gave me specific recommendations, and she was genuinely interested in chatting about international candy, all with a smile. The prices were fair, and the free chocolate bar was a nice bonus. The candy, obviously, is phenomenal. Thank you so much if you’re reading this, Melissa!! I hope that you, too, can have a lil sweet treat soon :)

Randomly stumbled across this location and was finally excited to try out the candy I’ve been seeing online! Super cute store front and didn’t have to wait.
