Blue Ridge Coffee House

A little blue house in Ballard, finally open again
The blue house on 15th Ave NW sat empty for a while. In January 2026 it reopened as a coffee shop that looks like an illustration from a children's book.
Coffee, snacks and ice cream. The house account, billed twice a month, is either convenient or a bad idea depending on your habit.

The baked goods are delicious although a bit pricey. The drip coffee was hot and full bodied. The atmosphere is delightful! Such a good find!

Blue Ridge Coffee House is a cute little coffee shop with a great atmosphere and friendly service. We ordered a hot vanilla latte, an iced vanilla latte, and a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. The drinks were good, and the croissant was pretty tasty as well. My biggest complaints are that the line was very long, there is only a small area at the end of the counter to wait for your order, and seating is pretty limited. I also wish they offered sugar-free syrup options for those looking to cut back on sugar. Overall, the coffee and food were good, and I’d definitely stop by again if I’m in the area.

This cozy coffee house quickly became a favorite after it opened a few months ago. My friends tease me about being a "common law coffee connoisseur." Since moving to Seattle three years ago, I've been methodically trying every coffee shop I can. (See first photo with the mugs I've collected along my journey.) I can honestly say Blue Ridge Coffee House serves some of the best, if not THE best, coffee I've tried in Seattle. Period. I think everyone in the neighborhood has discovered it, but if you're a fellow coffee explorer, you need to add this to your "must visit" list. The service is outstanding; they're very warm and welcoming. All of the food and pastries we've tried have been tasty, too. The only challenging thing is that there's a tiny parking lot, but I've never had trouble finding a spot on 15th.

This place is absolutely adorable! It’s an easy walk from the nursery, and the dog-friendly patio with its charming seating area makes it even better. The coffee was delicious, and I really appreciate that they offer gluten-free and vegan/dairy-free pastries and drinks, such a thoughtful touch for us food intolerant people. As a small business owner myself, I also love their no-tipping model and commitment to paying staff a fair wage - I do the same and really believe in it! It’s such a refreshing and ethical approach. Yes, the coffee is a bit pricier, but it balances out when you consider you’d typically be adding a tip elsewhere. This has definitely become my new favorite spot!
