Katsu, curry and ramen from the Moontree owner

Tsuki Shokudo opened on First Ave N in January 2026, a fast-casual Japanese spot from the owner of Moontree Sushi and Tapas.

Katsu and curry are the core, plus a shio ramen that arrives with a whole chicken leg quarter sitting in the bowl. The wagyu bulgogi burger is the outlier on the menu, and it sells anyway.

If you’re anywhere near Tsuki Shokudo, do yourself a favor and make a stop—not just for the incredible food, but for the experience that Bento and Tay create. Bento’s understanding of food and drink pairings is second to none. His recommendation of the kimchi cucumber alongside an ice-cold beer was absolute perfection—refreshing, bold, and the ideal way to start the evening. Then came the WhistlePig Old Fashioned, which somehow brought a distinctly American classic into perfect harmony with the Japanese-inspired menu. It was a pairing I never would have imagined, but one I’ll be thinking about for a long time. What truly sets Tsuki Shokudo apart, though, is the hospitality. Tay’s warm welcome and genuine conversation make you feel less like a customer and more like an old friend. Between Bento’s expertise and Tay’s hospitality, this isn’t just dinner—it’s an experience. Five stars simply aren’t enough. I’ll definitely be back!

The shoyu ramen was so so yummy! We also loved the green beans, spicy beef ribs and the shumai was divine! Would definitely go here again to try the Japanese curry and katsu sandwiches!

Drove down from Bothell on Sunday for a girls’ day and this place did not disappoint. The food came out hot and fast, which was a great start. The katsu burger was cooked perfectly, and the chicken was nice and moist. I’m a big fan of chicken karaage, and theirs was definitely a highlight. Even the green beans were incredibly flavorful. They also had a great drink selection. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was clean with lovely decorations. Overall, it was the perfect choice for the occasion—I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Their French Fries and Vegetarian Ramen are truly exceptional. The soup is delicious and very flavorful. I will certainly return, as I have discovered my favorite tasting Ramen, and their fries are wonderfully crunchy and delicious. I highly recommend it.

I think I have the best Japanese Sando in Seattle! The service here was amazing, love the ambience. The menu looks so tasty. I might have to come back and try their curry and Ramen and overall the food was amazing, it was so flavorful and juicy. I really enjoy that curry sauce too. Highly recommend and I will come back.
