Partenope

Daily fish flown in from Italy, in an intimate seafood room in Mariahilf
Partenope opened on Aegidigasse in March 2026, run by owner Gaetano Brancato with chef Mario Farina in the kitchen. The restaurant takes daily deliveries of fresh fish from Italy, and the menu builds around it: branzino, dorade, and scorpionfish, each prepared several different ways depending on what came in that morning.
The wine list runs to roughly 200 bottles, weighted toward Italian producers to match the kitchen. Partenope keeps a small, intimate room, closer in scale to a neighborhood trattoria than a formal fish restaurant, and has quickly built a following among Vienna's Italian food regulars.

One of the best fish restaurants in Vienna; very attentive staff, very very fine Starters, great Fish and fine wine. Enjoyed every minute there. Even though I miss Carmela and Andrea very much :-).

Their dishes look like a work of art, from starters to desserts. Needless to say, the only thing better than exquisite fish is obviously Gaetano and Gennaro’s charme 🫶🏼. Best place for all sorts of date and business lunches and dinners. Recommendation: basically everything including desserts, but make sure to get advice on the best wine option paired with their daily fish options.
