Brentwood Coffee Roaster

Coffee roasted that week, one block from the escalator
Brentwood Coffee Roaster roasts its own beans right behind the counter instead of shipping them in. The shop is small, mostly standing room, with the roaster in full view.
Cochrane Street sits one block from the Central-Mid-Levels escalator, a stretch that's turned into one of SoHo's denser coffee corridors over the past two years. Ask the staff and they'll tell you which farm your beans came from that week.

The coffee tasted great, but the service was disappointing. I sat alone at a single table, but a few minutes later, a staff member asked me to move to the bar to save space for a group of four. Understanding it was a busy lunch hour, I willingly agreed. However, they didnât offer to help me move my coffee or my belongings at all. I had to carry everything over by myself while juggling my bags. The staff only moved my leftover water glass, said simply 'sorry' and that was it. In the end, nobody even sat at my original table. No thank you or apology was given at checkout. Your staff is lack of basic courtesy.

A pleasant new coffee shop in the area, serving a distinctive lunch menu and decent coffee. Service was efficient but not especially attentive. Be mindful of where you sit, as the air conditioner was dripping onto my coffee and food. Prices also felt a little high for the choice of ingredient and portion. Nonetheless, it was overall a comfortable dining experience (before the AC started dripping into my coffee).
