Hopewell Hotel

★ 4.5 · 948 reviews Hong Kong Opened 10 December 2024

1,024 rooms on a hillside forty years overdue

Hopewell Holdings first pitched this second tower beside its round Hopewell Centre back in the 1980s, and the plan sat stalled for decades through objections and redesigns. What finally opened in December 2024 is 55 storeys, 1,024 rooms, and over 70,000 square feet of column-free meeting space, one of the largest five-star hotels Hong Kong has ever built.

The site is the strange, good part. Kennedy Road climbs above Wan Chai, so the tower sits between the office blocks below and the woods of Wan Chai Gap, with Hong Kong Park down the road. Rooms on the higher floors face straight out over the harbour.

Good to know

  • The hotel sits uphill from Wan Chai on the edge of the greenery; rooms on the harbour side get one of the widest skyline views in the city.
  • It is a steep walk up from Queen's Road East; the hotel shuttle or a taxi saves you in summer.

it's our first time staying at this part of Hong Kong. It is very interesting. It's a very busy mix of residential and commercial. We chose this hotel because you get a proper suite with two bathrooms. Overall, the experience was pretty good.

This 5 star hotel is conveniently located in Wan Chai with easy access to the MTR and public transportation. My family loved and enjoyed our 10 days of stay at the hotel. We had a very comforting, relaxing, and a memorable experience. The family suite is spacious and ideal for a family of 5 or more. The hotel is equipped with a shopping mall, great restaurants, and all the essential amenities. The hotel staff are well groomed and fashionably dressed to greet and care for their guests' need. From the front desk lobby to the housekeeping staff, everyone greeted us with a smile and unwavering service. The view from our 40th floor hotel room overlooking Victoria Harbor and the Cental area buildings is spectacular, complemented by the night time light show spectacle of the buildings in the Central Area. Our HK stay at Hopewell Hotel has been very pleasant and truly memorable. My family and I highly recommend Hopewell Hotel. PS: I also chose this hotel because in the early 1980s my grandfather worked security for the hotel.

We stayed here for a business conference based at the HKCEC and it was outstanding. The service and friendliness was what we have missed over the last few years visiting HK. The buffet breakfast was amazing, tasty, fresh and diverse. We had a lovely gentleman named Tan who learned we wanted oat milk with our coffee and automatically brought it to us every morning. We didn't get to enjoy the swimming pool and sauna but we will definitely be back. Thank you! From Australia

This hotel has been the absolute best value for money I have seen in the last 5 years. Beautifully appointed large rooms with quality bedding, thoughtful lighting, huge shower, and a magnificent view all in the very center of everything and next to the MTR, walking distance to malls and countless bars and restaurants. A wonderful and luxurious stay for an insanely reasonable price. Much appreciated!

The photos on their website don't do the hotel full justice!! Massive rooms, and ours had a decent sized bathroom with a washer/dryer, which is amazing bonus!!! The shower pressure was soooo good!!! Struggled to take short showers! Super comfy beds. Pool and gym are really lovely too! Fantastic location!! Loads of cafes and restaurants nearby, with MRT entrance 2 mins away. A bit of a hassle having to get up from the mall to hotel during busy times but that's really the only downside and not even a real one as there's a separate lift queue for hotel guests. We checked out at 2pm, and used the pool facilities till we had to leave for airport at 6pm. Incredible value for money and def a 5star hotel!!
