Borscht and pelmeni, two floors up in a converted Fo Tan factory
Russian food this far from Wan Chai is rare enough to make the trip worth it. Borsch Spot sits on the second floor of The Arles, a converted factory building in Fo Tan, serving borscht, pelmeni and a short list of dishes you won't find outside a handful of Wan Chai spots.
Fo Tan has spent decades as an artist-studio district, with food options stuck at canteens for factory workers. This place is a small sign that's shifting as retail creeps into Sha Tin's industrial belt.

Pesto Pasta - fresh herbs and portion is big (A la carte) $68 Set with additional items Pumpkin soup - thick and creamy Mashed potatoes - not as smooth as French one while you can still taste some small potatoes Chicken Julienne - shred chicken and even smoother than Guangdong congee with shred chicken

Russian soup but not impressive to me. Its good point is that it’s warm and great to have during winter. There is 10% discount for afternoon tea session during weekends.

Just checked out Borsch Spot inside The Arles, and it’s a total winner. It’s a bit niche but highly recommended if you're in the area. Ordering is super seamless—you just do it all via their app when you get there, and they conveniently accept card payments.

I work in the area, you can imagine how happy I was learning I can pop over for reasonably priced pan-East-European dishes for lunch. The dishes are sizeable, bread top quality. Hope for expanded menu in near future. And wider delivery service.

This is my first time trying out authentic Russian food. I’m a big fan of HK style borscht. I should try the real and original Russian style. Food is good. I can see their heart in preparing the soup and bread. Milk tea I ordered today is not HK style but what would you expect? It’s not a HK style cafe after all. Good food at good price. Definitely will come again and try other dishes.
