Rachel Goenka's Sassy Spoon, reborn as a cocktail bar

Nariman Point runs on office crowds and never had a decent spot for an early evening drink. Now it does. Rachel Goenka gutted her own Sassy Spoon and handed the bar to Jishnu A.J., ex-Ekaa, as creative director and cocktail lead. The pastel cafe look is gone, replaced by grey walls, leather seating and a maroon marble bar trimmed in copper.

Jishnu builds drinks from ferments, hydrosols and foraged ingredients, grouped on the menu by mood rather than spirit. Edge of Desire mixes bourbon and peated whisky with mace infusion and cinnamon hydrosol. Food follows suit: kombu-spiced pumpkin pizza, polenta fries, buff sliders.
