The dining room at Tacite is built to feel like a friend's living room, not a formal restaurant. Behind it, the cooking is anything but casual.
Joris Koudstaal and maître Daan van Splunteren both built their names in Dutch fine dining before going out on their own, and this Oud-Zuid address is their first restaurant together. The kitchen leans on seasonal produce and a light hand, open Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Tacite. Everything was perfect: the food was incredibly good, the wines were delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely. But what truly made the evening special for us was the service. Rarely have I experienced such personal, warm, and sincere service. You can really feel that the work here is done with great care and pleasure. Impressive for a restaurant that has only just opened. For us, it is an absolute top choice in Amsterdam. We would love to be back!

I chose this restaurant for my birthday because I loved the idea of cooking with seasonal ingredients, and I was especially curious to try this new place. Even though I made the reservation on the very same day, they welcomed me with the sweetest little birthday card, which honestly touched me so much. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish felt clean, thoughtful, and beautifully balanced. I enjoyed every course so much that I’m already looking forward to coming back when the menu changes and trying the next seasonal selection. But what truly made this evening special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly warm and lovely without ever being too much. I celebrated my birthday with my mom, who wasn’t feeling well that day and was understandably a little down. As the evening went on, I could actually feel her mood lifting, and I think the warmth of the staff had a lot to do with it. I must have heard “Happy Birthday” from everyone working there that evening, but somehow it never felt excessive, just genuinely thoughtful and perfectly timed. It made me feel really cared for 🥹 The interior is beautiful in a very understated way, and the atmosphere was just right, neither too quiet nor loud, making it easy to enjoy both the food and the conversation. A truly lovely place with wonderful food and, above all, genuinely kind people. I’m already looking forward to coming back when the menu changes.
